As part of the RENEW project, we are asking people to take part in a survey all about the views from windows in your homes or workplaces. To take part, you can simply upload a picture of your view and answer a few questions about its importance to you.
Looking at nature through a window may be an important part of daily nature interactions but there’s still much we don’t know about these views. That’s where you come in. By participating in this survey, you’ll help us understand the diversity of window views across the country and how they are valued.
This is a collaboration with the Wildlife Trusts as part of their 30 Days Wild campaign, which encourages people to connect with nature in some way every single day in June. Leading the study is Dr Ben Phillips, a collaborator with the ECEHH team on the RENEW project, based at the Environment and Sustainability Institute at the University of Exeter.
The RENEW project, led by the University of Exeter and the National Trust, aims to improve the state of biodiversity in England through a people in nature approach.
Work within this project within ECEHH is focused on individuals. We aim to explore and understand how individuals relate to and experience nature and biodiversity and how this may change with biodiversity renewal. We will do this through a range of methods including analysing existing surveys, a bespoke longitudinal survey so that we can explore changes over time, and qualitative work to explore aspects in greater depth.
